Yobe State Police Command said that it had arrested four men for allegedly gang raping minors in the state.

Spokesman Assistant Superintendent of Police Dungus Abdulkarim (ASP), in an interview in Damaturu, said three of the suspected rapists who are, Dahiru Mohammed, 27 years; Mohammed Musa, 25 years; and Saidu Adamu, 46, were arrested on December 25th by men of Potiskum Divisional Police Headquarters for allegedly gang raping a 13 year old girl.

ASP Abdulkarim alleged that the rapists took advantage of the Christmas holiday to lure their victim into Brema Primary School located in Damaturu, having carnal knowledge of them.

He said the Geidam Divisional Police Headquarters on December 26 arrested Bako Umaru, 35, for allegedly abducting and raping an 11-year-old girl at Hausari, inflicting severe injury on her private parts.

Abdulkarim said the girl lost excess blood and was receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in Damaturu.

He said Mohammed Jajere, 27 years, was on December 26th arrested by men of Gashua Divisional Police Headquarters for allegedly raping a young nursing mother at Garindalal area of Dagona Ward.

The spokesman said Jajere raped the woman, who was recuperating from child birth, when he broke into her home with the intent to steal.

He said the cases were undergoing ‘discreet’ investigation, adding that the perpetrators would be prosecuted after investigations.
