Men of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested two armed robbery suspects at Olambe area of Akute, in the Ifo Local Government Area of the state.

The suspects who are; Shola Alabi 28 year old, and Lukman Olanrewaju 27 year old, were reportedly arrested following a distressed call received by the Divisional Police Officer, Ajuwon divisional headquarters, SP Andrew Akinseye.

Ogun State Police PRO , Abimbola Oyeyemi, made this known in a statement.

Oyeyemi said the call was received on the robbery incident at about 5pm on Sunday.

According to him, the police were told that a three-man armed robbery gang was operating at Olambe area, and that they have shot one commercial motorcyclist who was later identified as Anas Usman and snatched his motorcycle.

He said, “Upon the distress call, the DPO led his men to the scene of robbery, and with collaboration of the So-Safe Corps, two amongst the robbers were subsequently arrested.

“Recovered from them are, one-cut-to size locally made gun, two live cartridges and the snatched motorcycle.

“The victim was quickly taken to the hospital for treatment, while effort is on top gear to apprehend the remaining member of the gang.”

The PPRO, however, said the Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun, has ordered the immediate transfer of the robbery suspects to Ogun state Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.
