Kogi Announced Opening of Schools Amidst Covid19

The Kogi state governor has announced opening of Schools at all levels amidst Covid19.

All primary, secondary and Tertiary institutions in Kogi State will open in two week time.

The resumption of academic activity across Kogi state has been read in a statement released by the Kogi state Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Wemi Jones.

The Kogi state Commissioner for education statement added that the government who is the person of Gov. Yahaya Bello arrived at the decision after series of meetings with the relevant stakeholders, and assessment of both private and public schools in the state to ascertain their level of readiness and safety for the reopening of schools following the outburst of Covid-19 in Nigeria.

The statement further stressed that the state government arrived at this decision after assessing the situation in schools, especially for the final year classes that had resumed, saying the state has not recorded any positive cases, earlier on you would recall that Kogi state Government and NCDC has word of over Covid19 cases, with the government claiming there is no virus in Kogi state while NCDC on the other hand claims there are lot of number of persons who has been affected by the virus.

All school heads were further ensued to ensure full compliance with the Covid-19 protocols which had been clearly set out by the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19.

The statement further promote an adherence to personal hygiene by pupils, students and school staff.
