Reopening on 18th January, Bayero University, Kano, has issued a compulsory stay-at-home order to non-essential staff from CONTIS 11/CONUASS 04 and below.
The Secretary, Information and Publication Division, Lamara Garba, in a statement said the directive was sequel to an earlier circular by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
However, he said they are to resume normal on the said date in preparation for the reopening of the university.
He said: “Pending the resumption of normal duty, no officer should embark on any journey without permission.
“It should also be noted that any staff could be called upon if their services are deemed necessary.
“Officers who will be at work and visitors to the university premises are to adhere strictly to the COVID-19 protocols.”
He added that recent returnees from overseas are to self isolate and contact the university COVID 19 prevention committee in case of an emergency.
